The following activities are available on site.
The multi-purpose climbing tower is located in a separate fenced off area adjoining the activity field.
It has a climbing face with interchangeable climbing holds and two abseiling faces.
There is a central ladder providing access to the half level and full level stages. Instructors are available if required.



The range is located close to the Wally May Centre. It is fully equipped with an instructor, rifles and pellets.
It is required that it is booked in advance and there will be an hourly fee.


The site provides qualified instructors for both the abseiling and air rifles.
Within Ross Wood campsite are several orienteering courses of varying lengths and levels of difficulty.
These include basic courses for Cub Scouts and more advanced challenging courses for Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Network participants. Course maps are available.
The woodland nature of the campsite is perfect for bivouacking, backwoods cooking and survival experiences.
There are a number of woodland walks allowing for nature trails. In fact all aspects of basic scoutcraft can be experienced at Ross Wood.
